Oncor donates Parkdale Lake, 110 acres to city for new park trail in Southeast Dallas

A lake that was once used to cool a power plant in Southeast Dallas will now add power to the city’s 50-mile loop, connecting 254 miles of hike and bike trails.

  4. The lake has dried up considerably in recent years. I doubt that there will be any boat ramps, as the water is so shallow that a boat would touch bottom. The lake used to get water fed into it via the power plant; but has had no supply of water in many years, and much of it has turned to forest.

  5. It was a nice area in the 60 & early 70’s, too many mexicans there now
